Youth Choir
The YOUTH CHOIR of FUMC is considered the top youth choir in the metroplex. This group of young people in grades 6 through 12, serves as the worship choir several times a year. The Youth Choir tours nationally each year, and in June 2010, toured the Chicago area. The Youth Choir has collaborated with many internationally acclaimed artists including the Polish National Chamber Orchestra, the Zambian Vocal Group, the Youth Orchestra of Greater Fort Worth, and recording artist Celia Whitler. The Youth Choir, along with Choral Union, made its Bass Hall debut in 2003. This year the Youth Choir will be writing an original musical, recording a CD in the spring, and touring Atlanta, Pensacola, and New Orleans in June 2011 for our summer music outreach tour. The Choir rehearses Sunday afternoons 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the Choir Suite September thru May of each year.
September 10-11, 2010 - Sixth Grade Orientation Retreat - Friday-Saturday, 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 noon
September 11, 2010 - All Youth Choir Gathering (Sixth Graders, too) - Saturday, 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon
Regular Rehearsals will resume Sunday afternoon, September 12, 4:00-5:30.
Writer's Circle will meet beginning 3:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12.
