Senior Adult Ministry
"To light the way to new and renewed friendships, experiences and activities,
by growing in our own relationship with Jesus Christ.”
The Senior Adult Ministry provides programming for the 2,800-plus members of our church over the age of 55. A 21-member council meets monthly to plan effective ways to minister to these members. “XYZ” or “Extra Years of Zest” meets each Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in Wesley Hall for a morning of table games. All are welcome to join in this time of fun and fellowship. One Day Bus Trips are scheduled periodically to nature, art and entertainment centers. Dinner Programs, held several times a year, bring distinguished speakers from all walks of life. Held at 5:45 p.m. in Wesley Hall (usually on a Wednesday evening), these programs offer a splendid way to meet others and have a wonderful evening. Watch the church paper, website, and bulletin for upcoming programs.
Lay Ministers of Care
Lay Ministers of Care is a program designed to show support and love for both our members unable to come to worship and for those in our community who are in some way kept from participating fully in life. The LAMB (Less Active ‘Homebound’ Members are our Blessing) ministry offers those who are no longer able to participate in church activities, a friendly contact from the church. Flowers, sanctuary service DVDs and Upper Room devotional guides are some of the items delivered weekly to those not able to attend service. Volunteers are needed! For more information please call Byron Searcy at 817/529-1517 or 817/339-5098 or you can
email Rev. Larry Grubb.
Flower Ministry
Each week the flowers from the altar are taken to the flower room on the third floor, broken down and placed into small vases. The flowers are then delivered to members who are home bound, in the hospital or in nursing homes. We need a group of four to six volunteers who are interested in helping with this ministry. Volunteers living in different geographical areas of our city would be helpful so the flowers could go to Arlington, mid-cities, as well as the four directions from the church. For more information call 817/339-5098 or email
email Rev. Larry Grubb.
